May 13, 2019

Dear Manton Families/Community,

I want to update you with the latest information regarding the schedule for the remainder of the school year.  Recently, the legislature approved up to an additional 4 snow days being forgiven for days taken during the governor’s State of Emergency.  The law states days taken from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1 may be forgiven.   We did have 4 days off from school that week, but we had no school on Monday, January 28th and did have school on Friday, February 1.  The Monday of that week is not eligible to be forgiven, so we have 3 additional days forgiven from this bill.  That would move our last day of school up from Friday, June 14th to Tuesday, June 11th. So our remaining calendar will look like this:

Friday, May 24th – ½ day of school

Monday, May 27th – No School – Memorial Day

Tuesday, June 4th – Full day of school (On our original calendar this was the last day of school and was a ½ day)

Wednesday, June 5th – Monday, June 10th - All full days of school that are make up for snow days

Tuesday, June 11th – Last day of school that is ½ day

Now, we must still apply for these 3 additional days to be forgiven from the Michigan Department of Education, but we are told the waiver will be granted.  I hope this helps with your planning as we end our school year. Have a great day, and Go Rangers!
