I have two pieces of information for you. 1. We were notified of one individual that tested positive for Covid-19 in our elementary. 2. Today Michigan Governor Whitmer recommended that Michigan schools move high schools to remote learning. In consultation with our local health department and other schools within our ISD, Manton High School will remain open at this time. Our local health department recommends that decision to be made at the local level. So, Manton Consolidated Schools will be open next Monday for in-person learning. A letter with this information can be found in our "News" section entitled, "Manton Parent Letter Regarding the Governor's Recommendation.” Thank you for your continued support of Manton Consolidated Schools!

We have seen an increase in cases of Covid-19 in Wexford County and as such, we will see an increase here at school. We have our safety protocols in place to try to minimize spread within our buildings for situations like we are dealing with now. We had two adults today test positive, one who quarantines no one here at school and the other with minimal contact with students. We also had an elementary student test positive and a presumed case in the same class. In speaking with the health department, at this point we are seeing community spread, not school spread. We have had several conversations regarding our numbers over the last week. Please know that at this time we have been informed of minimal cases kindergarten through the 8th grade. We are aware that could change at any time. Also, we will have over 50% of our quarantined students returning to school within the next two days. At this time we have made the decision to remain open, but please know that we are continuously reviewing our numbers, having conversations with our local health department, and that we may have to change direction at any time. Thank you for your continued support of Manton Consolidated Schools.
